Project Description
Sometimes an organization, though it is operating from a reasonable long-term strategic plan, chooses to revisit the constantly evolving challenges and opportunities it faces, just to make sure it is on a path that all stakeholders agree is the right one. That is especially true when they are contemplating new capital projects. Such was the case with the Crane Trust, which—in addition to doing important on-the-ground conservation work in Nebraska’s Platte River Valley—offers educational programming and related activities on their site. I was brought aboard by landscape architecture and master planning firm Big Muddy Workshop, and facilitated a strategic visioning process that helped the Trust team identify and prioritize the “Big Questions” facing them, along with their strategic answers to those questions. The results then helped inform the master site plan developed by Big Muddy Workshop.
